Vidic: More Trophies to Come

Defender Nemanja Vidic is confident that today's Community Shield victory is just the begining for Manchester United after last season's Premier League runner-up defeated champions Chelsea 3-1 at Wembley.

Antonio Valencia and Javier Hernandez gave Sir Alex Ferguson's men a two goal lead and Dimitar Berbatov rounded off the win with a cool finish after Salomon Kalou had pulled a goal back for Chelsea.

"I believe there will be more (trophies) -- this is just the begining," said Vidic. "I think we have good squad and showed today we have energy and showed some hunger."

"I think we did well today," added the Serbian central defender. "Some players who haven't played a lot pre-season had time to build up their fitness and they did well. Dimitar had a lot of pressure last year and we hope this year will score more goals."

Paul Scholes impressed in United's midfield, with an impressieve ball in the high point. The former England midfielder said, "It was a good game and we're happy with the win. It's more of pre-season friendly, but it's a trophy, we've managed to win it and we're more than happy to do that.

"It's always good to be Chelsda. They are quality side who beat us three time last year. That's dissapointing but we've got off to the night start this year."

"We weren't that far off last year -- just one point in the league. With more determination this year hopefully we can go one step further."

However, asked if he was expecting a phone call from England manager Fabio Capello, with a new revisiting his decision to end international career. Scholes said, "I don't think so, no."

Berba added, "It's my first goal in the Community Shield, so it's a good day for me. It's always good to score against a good side like Chelsea."
